Bud Malmstrom Mr. C. D. "Bud" Malmstrom was born in 1952 in San Angelo, Texas. Although his family traveled a lot because his father was a minister, he lived most of his younger years in Texas. He has a brother and two adopted sisters, and was married to Bonnie Mitchell in the late '70's. After quitting high school in his senior year, Bud Malmstrom joined the US Marine Corps and was on active duty in (1969-1973), where he received three meritorious promotions and was discharged as an E-5 sergeant. After receiving his GED while on active duty, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Georgia State University in 1980. Mr. Malmstrom began his martial art training in Bujinkan
Taijutsu as a student of Stephen K. Hayes in 1976, and is now a 10th
degree black belt under Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi. Bud Malmstrom is
available for seminars all over the world. He and the Bujinkan Atlanta
Dojo have been featured on the TV show 20/20 and have been
the focus of local and international news documentaries. Mr. Malmstrom
has been on the covers of Black Belt and Martial Arts Weapons
magazines and has published numerous articles on understanding the essence
of the martial arts as a contributing editor for Ninja magazine
and Martial Arts Weapons magazine, and has recently, he authored
a book Warriorship: Life Lessons of a Martial Artist. He is featured
on two training CD-ROMs presenting the basic techniques Bujinkan Taijutsu
and the three levels of Gyokko ryu Koshijutsu. As a member of the Tactical Tracking (for fugitive retrieval) team of OSI Special Investigations and Consulting Group, Bud Malmstrom is also an instructor of the CQBRS (pronounced cobras) Defensive Tactics Instructor Corps. Bud has assisted in teaching Federal, State, and local agencies, rural fugitive tracking and use of tracking for gathering evidence at crime scenes. Mr. Malmstrom has provided surveillance and participated in intrastate fugitive retrieval with OSI. Bud Malmstrom was OSI's team leader for a group that was at Ground Zero from September 14-19, 2001 to help in the rescue after the World Trade Center attacks. He is also a certified instructor of the Silent Universal Signals as is being taught to law enforcement, fire and rescue units and school systems. For two years, Mr. Malmstrom was also the Director
of Security for an international precious metals company, Premetco, LLC,
which had offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Ghana, Africa. |
